Bayer 04 Leverkusen Midfielder Extends Contract

Exequiel Palacios: Still Targeting More

Bayer 04 Leverkusen Midfielder Extends Contract

Fulfilled World Cup Dream, Now Setting New Goals

Almost a year on from lifting the FIFA World Cup with Argentina, Exequiel Palacios is now targeting yet more success with Bayer 04 Leverkusen. The Argentinian midfielder has signed a contract extension with the Bundesliga club, keeping him at the BayArena until 2027.

Palacios was a key member of the Argentina squad that won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. He played in all seven of his country's matches, starting in the final against France. The 24-year-old is now looking to build on that success and help Leverkusen achieve their goals.

"I am very happy to have extended my contract with Bayer 04 Leverkusen," said Palacios. "I have been very happy here since I joined the club in 2019, and I am excited about the future. We have a great team and a great coach, and I believe we can achieve great things together."

Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes is also delighted that Palacios has committed his future to the club. "Exequiel is a very important player for us," said Rolfes. "He is a great footballer and a great character. We are very happy that he has decided to stay with us, and we look forward to continuing to work with him."

Palacios will be hoping to help Leverkusen improve on their seventh-place finish in the Bundesliga last season. The club will also be competing in the UEFA Europa League this season, and Palacios will be keen to help them make a good run in the competition.

The Argentinian midfielder is still only 24 years old, and he has the potential to become one of the best players in the world. He is a talented footballer with a bright future, and he will be looking to make the most of his opportunity at Leverkusen.
